AeroCoach are world leaders in optimising both aerodynamic drag and biomechanics, having tested >1400 riders since 2012. Our clients include Grand Tour champions, World Tour teams, National federations, Olympic champions, World champions as well as amateur riders looking to go as fast as they can.
Wind tunnel sessions (Silverstone)
Wind tunnel sessions take place at the Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub in Silverstone and last 2hrs (solo). Longer sessions are available on request, please get in touch in advance using the contact form if you are interested in extra tunnel time on test day. Typical savings for a solo session are 20-45w (18-25 data collection runs).
Our experience ensures that your aero position will be fast and rideable in the real world.
The wind tunnel is a complement to our indoor track sessions, allowing us to make small mechanical changes with or without the rider, as well as higher airspeeds for certain situations (eg. track cycling).
Road, time trial and track bicycles can all be tested in the wind tunnel. Please note that tandems/handcycles should book a velodrome session for aero analysis.
Velodrome sessions (Newport)
Indoor velodrome Solo sessions take place at Newport velodrome over the course of 2 hours. With our exclusive use of the Garmin Track Aero System and a data variability of <1%, a Solo session will give you the most amount of data (run count 20-25) and the largest improvements, with typical savings of 20-35w.
Indoor Paired sessions are a more affordable option and also take place at Newport velodrome over the course of 2hrs, shared with another rider, also using the Garmin Track Aero System system at <1% variability and with a 12-17 run count, with typical savings of 15-20w. Each slot for a paired session is booked separately, so please check that both slots are available first if you intend to travel with a friend.
AeroCoach is the UK's exclusive provider of the Garmin Track Aero System. The TAS is a game changer in aerodynamic analysis, and measures your CdA (aerodynamic drag) as you ride around an indoor velodrome, wirelessly sending the data to the analyst in track centre. This means that we can evaluate your aerodynamics live as you ride - and provide feedback without needing to end a run. This revolutionary system increases your run count considerably, letting us test more positions, more equipment and giving you the best value for money for a velodrome session.
